1949 First SOS Children's Villages association founded in Austria and first SOS Children's Village built in Imst, Austria, by Hermann Gmeiner. Today SOS Children's Villages is active in 132 countries and territories worldwide.
SOS- Kinderdorf in BiH consists of two SOS- villages; in Sarajevo and in Gracanica, 1 social center Hermann Gmeiner, 5 youth facilities and several kindergartens.
The Ambassador visited one family home where 6 children live with their mother Zehra. The children received a book of Norwegian folk fairy tales and proudly showed their rooms and toys to the Ambassador.
