Nansen Dialogue Centre opens in Srebrenica

The Norwegian ambassadors from both Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina participated at the opening of the Nansen Dialogue Centre Srebrenica-Bratunac.

A new Nansen Dialogue Center was opened in Srebrenica on November 27., thus becoming the fourth Nansen Dialogue Centre in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The centre is financially supported by USAID, enabling activities for the next two years. The Centre's mission is to promote dialogue between members of the Bosniak and Serb communities in Srebrenica and Bratunac, laying the foundation for democratic development and lasting peace.

Ambassador Jan Braathu addressed the audience at the opening ceremony together with the Deputy Chief of Mission from the U.S. embassy Mr. Jonathan Moore, Mr. Allan Reed, Mission Director of USAID and Mr. Steinar Bryn, director of the Nansen Dialogue Project. Norway's ambassador to Serbia, Ambassador Håkon Blankenborg, was also present in addition to Mr. Jens Erik Grøndahl, DCM at the Norwegian embassy in Zagreb.

Although the centre is financed by USAID, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been a long standing supporter of a number of Nansen Dialogue Centres, as well as the Nansen Dialogue Project in general.
