Modern Norwegian Poetry at Bošnjački Institut

A presentation of modern Norwegian poetry took place at Bošnjački Institut on the 7th of May, with poets such as Eldrid Lunden, Øyvind Berg and Finn Øgland reading some of their work.

The presentation took place as part of Poetry Days in Sarajevo, a festival which lasts from the 6th of May until the 13th this month, with happenings taking place all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, also in Banja Luka, Mostar, Tešanj, Goražde and Čelić.

- I am very pleased to take part in this prestigious festival in Sarajevo, said Lunden. She read a handful of her poems in Norwegian, which were then translated in local language.

Munib Delalić gave a biographic presentation of the Norwegian poets, as well as translating the texts from original to local language.

Jan Braathu, the Norwegian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, underlined the importance and contribution of poetry in today’s society in his welcoming speech.
