Cum grano Salis

Writers and literature lovers from Europe participated at International Literature Festival “Cum grano Salis” in Tuzla 5-6 September. The cultural event included also an exhibition of Norwegian literature which has recently been translated into Bosnian language.

“Cum grano salis” aims to exchange experiences and views among writers, publishers and critics in the south Slavic language area. The literature meeting offered a variety of events for the participants including book promotions by Ivan Lovrenovic and Dzevad Karahasan. Tuzla Cabaret Theater officially opened the festivities with a modern twist of the play “Tvrdava” by Mesa Selimovic.

The Norwegian exhibition took place at atelier Ismet Mujezinovic. The audience had the pleasure to view a variety of Norwegian literature books translated into Bosnian language. Some of the classics were Henrik Ibsen and Lars Saabye Christensen. Jasmin Imamovic, the popular mayor of Tuzla, expressed gratitude towards Norway and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Sarajevo for their support to the city of Tuzla and its inhabitants. Mr. Imamovic also shared with the attended the success of Business and Innovation Center, BIT, in Tuzla. BIT has shown a new approach to technology and human talents in the region.

The Norwegian Ambassador in BiH Jan Braathu expressed gratitude towards the Tuzla Municipality and especially to the mayor of Tuzla, Jasmin Imamovic.

Mesa Selimovic Award Ceremony took place in Tuzla National Theater on Saturday 6. September. The novel “Grad u Zrcalu”( City in the mirror), by Mirko Kovac won the prestigious award as the best regional published novel in 2007.
