Ambassador Vibeke Lilloe presented her credentials to President Željko Komšić

Last updated: 28/10/2011 // Norway’s newly appointed ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Vibeke Lilloe, presented her credentials to the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Željko Komšić, on Thursday October 27th. The ceremony took place in the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

In her remarks, Ambassador Lilloe stressed that “the steady growth in relations, friendship and cooperation between Norway and Bosnia and Herzegovina is a source of great satisfaction to the Norwegian government and people”.

Ms. Lilloe expressed her hope and conviction that these friendly relations will be consolidated and further developed in the years to come, and emphasized that “Norway stands ready to do its part in supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina’s endeavours”. 

Ambassador Lilloe emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina is at an important stage in its post-conflict development, and that even though political and social progress has been achieved, more is needed.  Lilloe assured that “Norway has been – and will continue to be – a consistent contributor to the process of reconstruction and reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, and that Norway will continue to work with its allies and partners to ensure that the country remains undivided and at peace.

Ambassador Lilloe put particular emphasis on the importance of euro-atlantic structures and expressed hope that the coming period will see renewed efforts on the parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s politicians to implement reforms and speed up the integration process.

The Ambassador also expressed her deepest gratitude to both the authorities and people of Bosnia and Herzegovina for all the compassion and empathy shown after the terrorist attacks in Oslo and at Utøya on July 22nd this year.

On his part, President Željko Komšić, extended a warm welcome to the new Ambassador of Norway, wishing Ms. Lilloe a successful mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina. President Komšić ensured the full support and assistance of his country and underlined the peaceful and warm relations between Norway and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
