CHANGE IN THE PASSPORT APPLICATION PROCEDURES AS OF 6 APRIL As of 6 April 2010 all applicants have to provide biometric data when applying for a new Norwegian passport (is also required by the police in Norway). Biometric data consists of photo, signature and two fingerprints. Read more

After biometric passports are introduced on 6 April 2010 it will no longer be possible to apply for a personal ID number and passport at the same time. All applicants must have a national ID number before lodging the passport application at the Embassy. Such application still has to be presented to Norwegian authorities via the Embassy. Read more
