Youth Brigde Global
Gathering youths of Mostar for the play Romeo and Juliet.
Through six weeks in the summer of 2006 an international team worked with youth from Mostar for the performance of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Through the preperations Bosnian youth of Bosniak and Croat background met for positive and meaningfull interaction. The act took place at the ruins of Mostar University Library, which was destroyed during the war, behind Mostar Gymnasium, during the evenings.
Schools in the Mostar-region is divided by ethnic divisions, and there is little interaction between the different ethnicities. The performance was a positive way to establish bonds between the different groups.
