Vrbas

The project should encourage the continued development and long-term sustainability of the four autonomous water supply and sewerage (WSS) companies and the Regional Service Company (RSC) created during the larger Norwegian funded Vrbas project in the period 2004-2007. As part of the project NORPLAN will execute two missions to the region. The theme of the first seminar will be regional cooperation and the role of the RSC and its sustainability should be a central item. The indicated issue for the second seminar is Managing towards improved operational parameters. The focus will be on how continuing management development can lead to further improvements in the indicative parameters for the success and sustainability of the WSS companies. Bosnian authorities at entity and cantonal level as well as other stakeholders will be invited and a compendium in the local language and in English will be produced for distribution. The project also includes funding of GPS mapping equipments to the RSC to be used in connection with mapping and leak detection tasks. This will enable the RSC to increase its commercial viability.
