Documentary TV series by XY-films: “Overcoming the legacy of war crimes”.
The Norwegian ministry of foreign affairs has supported a production of a series of 24 documentaries. The series highlight positive examples of towns and villages where war crimes where committed, but where people have returned and are trying to re-establish their lives.
The project is expected to contribute to a better informed debate on the past in Bosnia and Herzegovina by introducing opportunities for the wider public to see and hear testimonies given by some of those most affected by war crimes. In this way it is expected that the wider population, as well as community-based civil organisations will receive more tools which they can use in shaping mechanisms to both deal with the past in a current situation when inter-ethnic relations still are constrained, as well as airing views on the transnational justice initiatives.
